TORONTO (November 5, 2024) – Longtime BNN Bloomberg anchor Amber Kanwar announced today her decision to step away from the anchor desk to pursue new opportunities. Kanwar’s final broadcast as anchor is Friday, Nov. 8.
“After nearly 15 years with BNN Bloomberg, it is time to explore new opportunities,” said Kanwar. “While I am excited about the future, it was not an easy decision. I grew up in this newsroom and it has been the privilege of a lifetime to work with the best journalists in the country and serve an incredibly loyal audience. While I work on the next steps in my career, I plan to stay connected to the markets by writing my daily newsletter and continuing to engage with investors across the country.”
“As a key contributor to BNN Bloomberg, both as a talented anchor and behind the scenes, Amber has been a fixture in our newsroom, and she will be greatly missed,” said Richard Gray, VP News, Bell Media. “She delivers breaking news, market analysis, and engaging interviews in a way that consistently connects with viewers. As she departs the station to pursue new career endeavours, we wish her nothing but the best.”
Kanwar’s career began in the BNN Bloomberg newsroom, as she worked her way from intern to segment producer, before becoming an anchor and reporter in 2012. Throughout her career, Kanwar has kept Canadians informed about under-the-radar stocks and emerging trends, while skillfully curating research to make this information accessible to viewers. She has interviewed hundreds of newsmakers and business leaders from Canada and around the world. Kanwar’s reputation for being a tough but fair interviewer has benefitted Canadian investors for more than a decade.
