HALIFAX (May 16, 2017) – Maritimers have made CTV NEWS AT 6 the most-watched newscast in the region again this year, with a 17.6 rating among adults according to the latest ratings released by Numeris. Anchored by Steve Murphy, the #1 newscast in the Maritimes attracts more than three times the adult viewers of its closest competitor.*
“We’re honoured that year after year, viewers put their trust in us to deliver the stories that matter most to our region,” said Dan Appleby, News Director, CTV Atlantic. “This is a responsibility we do not take lightly, and we work hard to ensure we’ve earned that trust.”
In addition to the most-watched local evening newscast, CTV NEWS AT 5 has increased by an impressive 14% in viewership when compared to the same period last year, earning a 16 rating. Also, CTV WEEKEND NEWS drew an 11.4 rating as CTV MORNING LIVE continued to hold its position as Halifax’s most-watched local morning show.
The latest results from Numeris also confirm that CTV upholds its #1 position with regularly scheduled programming in the region. In fact, all five of the Top 5 and seven of the Top 10 programs can be found on CTV.
