TORONTO (September 11, 2017) – CTV’s THE MARILYN DENIS SHOW and The Little Potato Company announced today they have joined forces for the third year in a row for The Little Chef Competition – a culinary showdown that gives children the opportunity to get creative with Little Potatoes and show off their cooking skills on THE MARILYN DENIS SHOW. The latest edition of the competition comes with a twist, as entire families are invited to take part in what is being called Little Chef: Family Edition.
Beginning today through Sunday, Oct. 22, Canadian families are invited to enter the competition. Following this entry period, the judges will determine the Top 10 semi-finalists to compete for the two finalist spots. Finalists will then appear on THE MARILYN DENIS SHOW with MASTERCHEF CANADA’s Michael Bonacini to compete for the grand prize – a family trip to Tuscany, Italy, valued at $15,000. To enter, families are invited to submit a family photo accompanied by a maximum 250-word essay on why they like to cook together. For more information on how to enter, visit Marilyn.ca/LC.
“We’ve had great success with the previous two Little Chef competitions and, now with entire families cooking, we expect to see the most dynamic culinary creations yet,” said Laird White, Director, Brand Partnerships, Bell Media. “We’re pleased to continue our partnership with The Little Potato Company and give families from across the country an opportunity to appear on THE MARILYN DENIS SHOW.”
“Everyone in the world deserves to eat healthy and nutritious food,” said CEO and Co-founder of The Little Potato Company, Angela Santiago. “Through our Little Chef Program, we help kids prepare and cook simple foods for the whole family. Our Creamer potatoes are tasty, nutritious and an easy ingredient for families to cook with. We are excited to see what this year’s competition will dish up for Little Chef: Family Edition.”
Each of the Top 10 families will submit a video showing them cooking with Little Potatoes. From Nov. 13-26, a public vote on Marilyn.ca/LC will be held and, along with input from producers of THE MARILYN DENIS SHOW and judges from The Little Potato Company, the two finalists will be determined. Additionally, online voters will have the chance to win one of two prizes.
The final cook-off will feature the two families (semi-finalists) going head-to-head on THE MARILYN DENIS SHOW, airing on the week of Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. ET on CTV and CTV GO, to determine which family will win the grand prize.
The Little Chef: Family Edition will be featured in major grocery retailers across Canada. Find more recipe inspiration and ideas for cooking with Creamer potatoes at www.littlepotatoes.com.
