iHeartRadio Canada Shares the Stories of Inspiring Canadians and Supports Mental Wellness in New Series of Shows

iHeartRadio

Continuing to provide an in-depth look into the news and social issues most important to listeners, iHeartRadio Canada launches a new series of national talk shows that focus on positivity and the importance of mental wellness. Two, new six-part series – LIFE MATTERS (12-1 p.m. ET) and LISTEN FOR A CHANGE (1-2 p.m. ET) – air Fridays on the iHeartRadio Canada Talk Network, beginning October 23. The new series of shows will also be available for download on the iHeartRadio Canada app.

Departing from the negativity surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, LIFE MATTERS, hosted by Tony Chapman, focuses on the stories of inspiring Canadians who have overcome adversity and accomplished great things. LISTEN FOR A CHANGE, hosted by Jim Richards, provides real-time expert support for listeners who are struggling with their mental health.

“I am thrilled to be bringing LIFE MATTERS to iHeartRadio Canada,” said Tony Chapman, NEWSTALK 1010 contributor. “During a time when positivity is lacking, I hope listeners are able to benefit from hearing the stories of ordinary people who do extraordinary things, and the lessons they have learned.”

“These times can be tough, and self-care and protecting one’s mental health is incredibly important,” said Jim Richards, NEWSTALK 1010 host. “I hope LISTEN FOR A CHANGE is able to provide a sense of community for listeners that may be struggling during this pandemic.”

“We are committed to helping Canadians manage through the pandemic by fostering meaningful conversations and informative discussions with our listeners,” said Mike Bendixen, Program Director and National Format Director for News and Talk Programming at NEWSTALK 1010. “Our goal is to provide a positive perspective and support system for those trying to cope in these times.”
