Crave continues to deliver weekly alerts highlighting new and noteworthy programming and scheduling changes for the week ahead.

Highlights This Week

• Following its World Premiere at TIFF 2019 and after taking home five Canadian Screen Awards earlier this year including Achievement in Music – Original Score and Best Original Song, the Crave Original film THE SONG OF NAMES begins streaming on Friday, July 17. A bold journey through friendship, betrayal and reconciliation, The Song Of Names is an emotional detective story spread over two continents and half a century, culminating in the titular song. The film shows that within the darkest of mysteries sometimes music has the power to illuminate the truth, heal and redeem. The Serendipity Point Films feature is produced in association with Bell Media Studios and executive produced by Robert Lantos and Randy Lennox.

• An all-new episode of CANADA’S DRAG RACE debuts on Thursday, July 16 at 9 p.m. ET. Setting their trademark Canadian niceness aside, in this week’s episode, the Queens battle it out in a song-and-dance diss track showdown. Joining judges Brooke Lynn Hytes, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, and Stacey McKenzie is special guest host, Canadian singer-songwriter, Deborah Cox.

• The dramatic feature film MOTHERLESS BROOKLYN drops on Friday, July 17. Set against the backdrop of 1950s New York, MOTHERLESS BROOKLYN follows Lionel Essrog (Edward Norton), a lonely private detective afflicted with Tourette's Syndrome, as he ventures to solve his friend's murder. Armed only with a few clues and the powerful engine of his obsessive mind, Lionel unearths the closely guarded secrets that hold the fate of the whole city in the balance.

What Critics Are Saying about Crave’s P-VALLEY:

“Starz's Heroic, Hilarious, and Heartbreaking Tale of a Strip Club Is One of the Year's Best”

“…P-Valley blends the profane, the sacred, and the politics of the almighty dollar to tell sharp, wildly engrossing stories about Black women on the margins who use their bodies to keep families and whole communities afloat. It's also one of the year's best new shows.”
- Malcolm Venable, TV Guide

“Starz’s P-Valley is a spectacular display of Black womanhood in all its hues and nuances”

“Helmed by an all-female directing lineup, P-Valley is a compelling character-driven story that shines a spotlight on the beauty and scars of women, Black women, in particular. It is an unapologetically Southern and Black story that puts women who are often shamed and pushed toward society’s edges right back where they belong—center stage.”
- Aramide Tinubu, The AV Club

“One of the year's best.”

“Created by Olivier Award-winning playwright Katori Hall (The Mountaintop, Tina: The Tina Turner Musical), P-Valley is the kind of series so variously accomplished you don't know what to praise first.”
- Inkoo Kang, The Hollywood Reporter
